The sheer expansiveness of the thing, combined with the center-line mounted camera unit, means your fingers can wander all over the place without interfering with the lens. When pinched in landscape orientation, the edge of the faux leather back meets the fingers, providing a little extra sense of grip. Whether you think the ridged chrome surround looks classy or cheesy is a matter of taste, but it does offer a decent grip for shooting photographs.
The Note 3 manages to cram an even bigger screen into a body with the same footprint as its predecessor, and it’s thinner and lighter to boot.
